Registration Process

The registration process for Tortoise & Hare Childcare is designed to be clear, thorough, and mutually supportive, ensuring that both families and the setting feel confident moving forward.

Step 1: Complete the Registration Form
Prospective parents or carers are first asked to complete our Registration Form in full. This provides us with key information about your child, your childcare requirements, and any specific needs or preferences you may have. The more detail you can provide at this stage, the better we can understand how to support your family.

Step 2: Initial Assessment and Telephone Conversation
Once we have received your completed Registration Form, we will review it carefully to assess suitability and availability. We will then contact you to arrange a telephone conversation at a time that is convenient for you.
During this call, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions about our provision, routines, policies, and approach to childcare. It also allows us to learn more about your child’s personality, interests, and needs, helping us to determine whether Tortoise & Hare Childcare is the right fit for your family.

Step 3: Face-to-Face Meeting
If, following the telephone conversation, both parties are happy to proceed, we will arrange a face-to-face meeting at a mutually convenient time.
This meeting provides an opportunity for you to see the environment, meet the practitioner(s), and discuss your child’s needs in greater depth. It also allows us to further explain our ethos, daily routines, safeguarding practices, and expectations, ensuring complete transparency from the outset.

By following this process, Tortoise & Hare Childcare aims to build a strong, trusting relationship with families from the very beginning, ensuring that every placement is both suitable and beneficial for the child.
